- 2b WATCH and ANALYSE the George Miller Documentary - Mad Max - The clip offers an opportunity to view part of a documentary featuring a talented Australian director in the dual role of subject and director. In his role as subject of the documentary, Miller discusses his views of film and the role of the cinema. In his role as director of the documentary, he has been able to organise how his ideas are presented to the audience.
- George Miller, one of Australia’s most celebrated directors, is credited with reinvigorating the action genre and creating an internationally recognised hero in Mad Max. In this clip he shares his thoughts on Mad Max and on film in general, reflecting on some of the keys to his success. Miller provides some of the special insights that can come to light when artists describe their own creative processes.

Practical Assessments
Production project(s) - 8 mini productions assessments throughout the year.
Production Project 2: Political Cartoon Semester 1 - 10% Due Semester 1 Wk 8
Production Project 3: Animation project Semester 1 - 15% Due Semester 1 Wk 2
Total Production Projects Semester 1 - 25%
Summative assessments: Journal, portfolio, pre-production planning materials,
meeting log, meetings with teacher to review work on fortnightly basis
These assessments must be completed or the Production Projects will not be marked.
A summative assessment table will be kept online by the teacher and recorded each fortnight during review meetings. You will be given a log-in to your own progress table, this will enable to you view your progress at any time.
Response Assessments: Semester 1 - 20%.
Blog/Journal 6%
Class Forum 5%
Critical Essay (details to be advised) 6%
Written Exam at end of Semester 1 - 30% - weighted to 50% of total year mark
